What Size Shed Do I Need?

The honest answer is that most people pick by price and then wish they had picked by what they were actually going to put in it. Here is every size we carry, what fits, and what is on the lot today.

SizeSq ftIn stockBest for
8x12962Push mower, tools, seasonal storage
10x121201Riding mower plus wall storage
10x161606Mower, workbench and shelving together
10x202004Storage plus a real work area
12x242881A workshop you can move around in
12x283361A garage — fits a vehicle

The Three Questions That Actually Decide It

1. What is the biggest single thing going in? A push mower and a riding mower are completely different buildings. Measure the biggest item, add three feet of walking room, and you have your minimum width.

2. Are you storing, or working? If a workbench is going in, you need 10 feet of width minimum — below that, the bench and the mower cannot coexist. If a vehicle is going in, you need 12.

3. Can it physically get there? The building travels from the road to the spot on a mule. Walk the route with a tape measure. Fence gates, tight corners, low limbs and soft ground decide this more often than budget does, and it is better to find out now than on delivery day.

The One Thing People Regret

Going one size too small. Nobody has ever called us and said the building was bigger than they needed. Plenty have called about upgrading a year later, and at that point you are paying to move a building instead of paying a little more once. If you are genuinely torn between two sizes, take the bigger one.
